The former racer and motorsports business veteran will oversee
sales and marketing for Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School
(December 9, 2011) – Green Savoree Mid-Ohio, LLC, owners and operators of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School, named Brett Roubinek to the newly created position of Vice President of Sales & Marketing today.
Roubinek will manage the sales and marketing efforts for both the racetrack and driving and riding school including business development, partnership sales, marketing, promotions and public relations.
“We are excited to bring Brett on board in this new role at Mid-Ohio,” said Craig Rust, president of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School. “Brett has experienced great successes both on and off the track and we look forward to him leading our team’s efforts as we further enhance Mid-Ohio as a marketing platform for our partners.”
The Denison University graduate has served in a number of roles throughout motorsports. Roubinek competed in NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East through 2001 after competing in various classes in SCCA and short track racing in New England. Beginning in 1998, he spent several years with Skip Barber Racing School, as a Managing Director and Director of Business Development for the OEM Events Group. In 2004, Roubinek was one of the first employees of iRacing.com as its VP of Marketing and later serving as Chief Operating Officer. He also was co-creator, writer and co-host of Racing Rocks! for the United Stations Radio Network. Most recently, Roubinek was the General Manager of Performance Track Riding at The Mid-Ohio School, a role he held since 2010.
“I am truly excited by the opportunity to play a role in the life of this storied facility and school. Very few racetracks have meant as much to the American road racing community and the generations of race fans who have grown up at Mid-Ohio,” said Roubinek. “Additionally, The Mid-Ohio School offers unparalleled driving and riding instruction on – what in my estimation is – the most challenging road course in North America. I’ve been fortunate to have worked with the committed, dedicated staff here, and look forward to the future.”
The Mid-Ohio School provides professional driving and riding instruction to drivers and motorcyclists of all skill levels. The school’s 16 automobile courses include Defensive Driving, High Performance and Racing programs. The motorcycle side features four Performance Track Riding formats. Students enjoy classroom sessions, skill drills, expert private instruction and lapping on the same track that challenges the world’s top racers. In 19 seasons, The Mid-Ohio School has 46,000 graduates, including 14,500 teenagers and 9,000 motorcycle riders.
