Leading American motorsports magazine will feature special content on the track
(July 18, 2011) – RACER
magazine and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course announced a partnership that will see the track showcased both in print, as well as online at www.racer.com
The partnership includes several items over the next six months including articles written by drivers who have a history at the track on www.racer.com
, a feature story and special edition cover in the September issue of RACER
and a digital magazine available for free download.

provides Mid-Ohio with a great outlet to honor our past and celebrate the 50th season. Their audience very much resembles our core fan and I believe they will truly enjoy the stories and photographs from 50 great years of racing at Mid-Ohio,” said Mid-Ohio President Craig Rust.
Beginning this month and continuing through late August, www.racer.com
will feature a weekly story from a driver detailing his memories of the Lexington, Ohio track entitled “Me and Mid-Ohio.” The drivers sharing their words on the track include Patrick Carpentier, Mario Andretti, Bobby Rahal, Brian Redman, Derek Bell and the yet to be determined 2011 Honda Indy® 200 at Mid-Ohio winner. . In it, Carpentier reminisces about his 2002 CART win at the track and his equally interesting celebration.
The special edition of RACER
’s September issue will be available at the track during the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge/ The Honda Indy® 200 at Mid-Ohio on August 5-7. It is highlighted by a “Mid-Ohio @ 50” cover and there will only be a limited number available. The standard and special editions of this issue will include a story examining the past five decades at Mid-Ohio and the drivers who made their marks there, as well as a look to the future under new ownership.
Lastly, a digital magazine including the four-page feature story, special cover and additional content such as historic photos will be posted online on August 2. This piece is free to download and will be live through 2011.

A comprehensive motorsports facility, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course features a permanent road-racing circuit with two primary configurations: a 2.4-mile, 15 turn, and a 2.25- mile, 13-turn circuit. The park-like, 330-acre complex is located in Lexington, Ohio, near Mansfield, 60 miles north of Columbus and 75 miles south of Cleveland.
