Overview
It's the most cost effective option to get on track. A great next step for Honda Teen and Adult Defensive Driving Program graduates. Advanced braking, shifting, handling, cornering and skid car exercises further knowledge of the physics and dynamics of driving.
This class takes defensive driving to the next level, covering the essential vehicle dynamics of driving through both classroom session and in-car drills. The in-car advanced braking, skid car, shifting, handling and cornering drills will take place in our Vehicle Dynamics Center and on the keyhole oval of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. All cars must be stick shift vehicles. If you do not know how to operate a stick shift just let us know at time of enrollment. We will give you extra instruction on how to drive a stick shift as part of the class if you need it. Teen participants must have completed the Teen Defensive Driving Program before enrolling in this Advanced Defensive Driving Program. If you want to use your own car it must be a stick shift.

On Track Drills - 2 hours
Keyhole Oval Lapping - 1 hour
This Course is Ideally Suited For:
- Teens and Adults that have graduated from our Honda Teen or Adult Defensive Driving Program
- Those drivers over 18 that want to learn advanced defensive driving skills
Sign in begins at 9:00am with class beginning at 9:30am and concluding at 4:00pm.
The course takes place at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, 7721 Lexington-Steam Corners Rd., Lexington, Ohio.

Participants must have a valid driver's license to enroll.
Teen participants must have completed the Teen Defensive Driving Program before enrolling in this Advanced Defensive Driving Program.
All participants using the school cars will be required to sign a liability waiver that states in the event of damage to the vehicle, you would be responsible for up to $1,500 in damages.
Using your street car for a class? The Mid-Ohio School recommends the following for all on-track programs:
Personal vehicles will be required to have, at a minimum, working factory installed restraint systems (working seat belts) or the equivalent. Tires should have at least 3/32 tread or be DOT approved race tires. Brake pads should be less than ¼ used, performance brake pads recommended. No visible fluid leaks. No convertibles unless equipped with proper roll-over protection. No SUV's, vans or trucks permitted. Loaner helmets are available at the track.
Suggested maintenance to perform prior to arrival:
- Torque wheels to recommended specs
- Check/adjust tire pressure
- Flush brake fluid system
- Bring extra brake fluid and motor oil
- Bring a tire gauge; air is available at track
Upon arrival:
- Remove all loose items from vehicle
- Check tire pressure often during the day
- Re-torque wheels after one or two track sessions
