KTM Motorsports and The Mid-Ohio School Extend Relationship Through 2012

Six KTM Race_Orange Fly and Ride dates and KTM RC8 R rental program also announced for 2011

DUBLIN, OHIO (April 6, 2011) – The Mid-Ohio School announced today that KTM Motorsports will remain as its Official Motorcycle through 2012, continuing a partnership that began in 2008.

“KTM is really pleased to be able to extend our partnership through 2012 as the Official Motorcycle of the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School. Mid-Ohio is the perfect track to showcase the 1190 RC8 R, with the track coaches riding RC8 R’s and our annual KTM Race_Orange Fly and Ride Program,” said KTM Product Line Manager John Hinz.

In 2009, the companies began collaborating on the KTM Race_Orange Fly and Ride Program, a unique opportunity that allows participants to ride KTM bikes like the 1190 RC8 R and 990 SM R. KTM provides the motorcycles and handles the fuel, tires and other maintenance throughout the day, allowing riders to truly ‘arrive and ride.’ The Mid-Ohio School’s track coaches also offer their expert instruction.

The initial 2011 dates for the six Fly and Ride programs offered this year are Monday, April 25; Monday, May 2; Wednesday, June 1; Thursday, July 21; Monday, July 25; and Wednesday, August 31.

“The Fly and Ride program continues to expand as our riders’ demand exceeds the number of dates we offer each year. We’re up to six dates this year,” said Brett Roubinek, general manager of The Mid-Ohio School’s Performance Track Riding program. “Riding a top bike on a top track is a fantastic opportunity that we’re able to offer our customers at a great value with KTM’s support.”

New for 2011 as part of the partnership extension, KTM Motorsports and The Mid-Ohio School offer customers the option to rent a KTM 1190 RC8 R during any of the 2011 Performance Track Riding dates, for either a full- or half-day. This addition extends the number of opportunities a rider has to pilot a KTM at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. A full schedule of track days is available online at www.midohioschool.com/schedule.

“As primary supporter of The Mid-Ohio School's motorcycle division, KTM Motorsports has been an instrumental partner in the growth of the Performance Track Riding program,” stated Craig Rust, president of The Mid-Ohio School. “Through its strong support, this riding program was able to gain independent, in-house status at the school towards the end of the 2009 season, and we look forward to continuing that growth as we move forward.”
