Mid-Ohio Hosts Open House and Job Fair

For the fourth consecutive year, and first under the operation of Green Savoree Mid-Ohio, LLC, fans are invited to a Community Open House and Job Fair at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course Saturday, March 19.

The event is free and open to everyone. No tickets or pre-registration is required so fans can just show up at the gate and participate. Pace car rides, parade laps and an autocross competition highlight the schedule of afternoon activities beginning at 1 p.m.

“This gives our fans a chance to get a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the track that they otherwise would not get the opportunity to see during a typical race weekend,” said President and COO of Green Savoree Mid-Ohio, LLC Kevin Savoree. “It’s also a great way to introduce potential fans and community members to motorsports and Mid-Ohio.”

The Mid-Ohio School’s staff of instructors will be behind the wheel, taking fans for a pace car ride around the track in one of the official vehicles of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Fans will have the opportunity to drive their personal car around the track in a parade lap. Throughout the afternoon, fans over 18 can compete on the autocross course in the middle paddock. Using an Acura TSX, each person will have two shots to put their best time on the board. The participant with the fastest time will receive a gift basket comprised of items and apparel from Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School.

Coinciding with the Community Open House is the seventh annual Job Fair. It will be a two-day event, running from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Full- and part-time openings exist in the Call Center, Food Services, Guest Services, Safety Services and Operations. Those 16 years old and up interested in job descriptions and filling out an application can visit the Goodyear Tower’s 4th floor. Several of Mid-Ohio’s department managers will be available on the 5th floor to discuss qualifications and responsibilities with applicants.

An American Red Cross blood drive will also take place on the grounds during the afternoon. Fans wanting to donate blood can visit garage #7 in the lower paddock. Call 800-733-2767 to schedule an appointment in advance to avoid missing an Open House activity.

A tentative schedule of Saturday’s activities is as follows:
