Performance Track Riding

Overview

Get on the track with your sport bike!  Beginner through Pro level riders are welcome to participate.  Our coaches will aid you in cornering skills, visual skills, body position, throttle control, steering input, lean angle and entry speed. Work on line selection and traction management and brush up on track flags and terminology.

All participants must be at least 18 years of age to participate in Performance Track Riding Programs. No exceptions.

Each participant in full day sessions will receive a wristband redeemable for a combo meal at the concession stand on full-day track sessions. Restrictions apply.

Riders with no track experience must register for the BEGINNER group. Riders new to Mid-Ohio (and without a race license) must begin in the NOVICE group. Advancement of any rider will occur only with approval from the coaching staff. 

All riders in the Pro group must present their current race license at check-in.

2024 Schedule

Riding Groups/Levels
Beginner - For riders with no track experience. Includes classroom session before getting on track (low coach-to-rider ratio) and discussion with coach after each lead/follow session. Riders graduate to Novice after evaluation. All motorcycles eligible (250cc minimum).

Novice - Starting point for riders with some track experience, but new to Mid-Ohio. Break up in groups based on rider skill/experience. Morning sessions will be lead/follow. Riders typically have more freedom in afternoon with coaches still on track.  Coaches will begin passing riders and allowing riders to pass.  Riders graduate to Intermediate after evaluation. All motorcycles eligible (250cc minimum).

Intermediate - Riders are still learning and getting faster. Coaches will control ride during sessions and will also be available for questions and lead/follow if requested. Riders graduate to Advanced after evaluation. Track ready motorcycles only.

Advanced - For veteran track day riders and Racers. Coaches will control ride during sessions and will also be available for questions and lead/follow if requested. Racers must adhere to Advanced group guidelines or restrictions. Track ready motorcycles only.

Pro - Open to WERA CCS licensed Expert racers and MotoAmerica licensed racers. License must be presented at registration/check-in.  Pro riders are welcome to ride in the Advanced group but must adhere to guidelines or restrictions associated with the group.
