LEXINGTON, OH, July 8, 2014 – If you are a fan of two wheels then the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will be the place to be on “bike-to-bike” weekends this July.
“Bike to bike” (back to back) will be the BikeBandit.com AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, July 11-13, and the Buckeye Superbike Weekend presented by Dunlop Tire, July 19-20, or the closest thing to motorcycle nirvana in America’s heartland.
The BikeBandit.com AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days will celebrate the iconic Indian Motorcycle as the Featured Marque for 2014 during this gathering of the year for vintage motorcycle aficionados in the United States. Enthusiasts and participants alike can gather at a special display in the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame tent, which will be set up during the weekend event complete with autograph sessions with Grand Marshals Bill Tuman and Bobby Hill, All Years Bike Shows and seminars.
Also scheduled over the three days will be the world’s largest motorcycle swap meet, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and special gatherings for Kawasaki owners and their counterparts of Classic British Motorcycles, and street motorcycle demo rides. Of course there will be vintage racing on track and off, as well a dirt track competition at the nearby Ashland fairgrounds.
"Fans attending the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days will have the opportunity to see some of the most classic motorcycles in U.S. history up close, either on display or racing or both," said Craig Rust, President of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. "Our back-to-back two-wheel events are recognized around America as among the best gatherings in the sport."
Just one week later, the Buckeye Superbike Weekend presented by Dunlop Tire will return for a 32nd year with the best in AMA Pro Racing. Four major racing series will be competed on this weekend. Graves Yamaha teammates Josh Herrin and Josh Hayes will be front and center in attempting to continue their staunch competition in the top SuperBike class once again.
