(February 5, 2013) – Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course announced a comprehensive, multi-year partnership with Diamond Cellar that includes the title of the GRAND-AM Road Racing weekend on June 14-16.
Additionally, Diamond Cellar will become the Official Jeweler of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School. The relationship is in effect immediately and runs through 2014. Mid-Ohio will work with the Diamond Cellar on the Get Up to Speed
watch event at the Sawmill Road location this May 17-18.
“We are excited to partner with Mid-Ohio. Like the Diamond Cellar, Mid-Ohio is a leader in their category that has roots in Ohio while garnering national recognition as one of the best. After working with them on our Watch Event in 2012, and presenting Scott Dixon with a Rolex watch after he won the Honda Indy 200 last season, we could see the potential for a long-term relationship,” said Diamond Cellar Owner and CEO Andy Johnson. “The partnership will be beneficial to both of us, and we’re excited to have an increased presence not only during the sports car weekend, but throughout the year with the track and driving school.”
The Diamond Cellar Classic features the return of GRAND-AM Road Racing’s top circuit, the Rolex Sports Car Series and is supported by the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup, Cooper Tires Prototype Lites and Ohio Valley Region SCCA IT-Spec Miata Shootout.
“We are extremely proud to be partnering with Diamond Cellar, an Ohio born, family owned business and believe that our loyal sports car fan base and their loyal customer base truly complement one another.” said Craig Rust, president of Mid-Ohio. “We can’t wait to kick things off with the watch event this spring and look forward to working with them throughout the season and beyond.”
Diamond Cellar Classic tickets start at $35 for the weekend or $25 for race day through May 3. General parking is free and children 12 and under are also admitted free to all major events. Visit midohio.com
