North Central Ohio facility to host massive motorcycle event for the 30th time
LEXINGTON, Ohio (July 24, 2025) – Motorcyclists from across the country will assemble at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the Permco AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Turn 14 Distribution this weekend, July 25-27, for one of the world’s largest two-wheel celebrations.
This year marks the 33rd edition overall of the legendary AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days (VMD) and the 30th time Mid-Ohio has hosted the three-day extravaganza. Once again, motorcyclists, enthusiasts, swap meet vendors, collectors and competitors will all join in the festivities across the 380-acre facility. Proceeds from the event support the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation (AMHF), a 501c3 nonprofit. The AMHF raises money for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, a museum located in nearby Pickerington, Ohio, which celebrates and preserves the rich tradition of motorcycling in America.
Motocross legend, world champion and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Brad Lackey will be honored as Grand Marshal of the 2025 Permco AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Turn 14 Distribution. As one of the defining motocross racers of the 1970s and 80s, Lackey won the 1972 AMA National Motocross Championship and became the first American to win the 500cc World MX Championship, in 1982.
“I’ve been to VMD a few times, and it’s always been a lot of fun,” Lackey said. “But this year, with the AMA celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Suzuki RM series of motocrossers, which formed the basis of the RN500 works motocrosser I won the 1982 500cc World Championship on, it’s going to be extra special — especially having my ’82 championship bike on display. I’m honored to be the Grand Marshal for this year’s VMD celebration, and I’m excited to hang out with all the vintage enthusiasts.”
The weekend will include multiple forms of racing disciplines, including road racing on the 2.4-mile, 15-turn Mid-Ohio road course, hare scrambles, motocross, pit bikes and trials. Flat track racing will be held at the nearby Ashland County Fairgrounds on Saturday evening (July 26).
New this year, the road racing schedule will feature multiple races from the Parts Unlimited MotoAmerica Talent Cup by Motul class, showcasing the future stars of MotoAmerica. One such young rider is local boy Ian Fraley, a 14-year-old from Lexington, Ohio. Fraley races in the Talent Cup for Real Steel Honda, which is managed by Mark Junge, who is also an Ohio-based motorcycle racer and an instructor at The Mid-Ohio School.
“I’ve been coming to Mid-Ohio since I was two years old with my dad. I haven’t missed a day, even when my sister was born,” said Fraley. “I’m just excited to get working at it. I’m going to have a bunch of my fans come out here and watch me. I’m just excited to go for it.”
Along with the abundance of racing, features include merchandise displays, North America’s largest motorcycle swap meet with nearly 900 vendors spread across 35 acres, and additional attractions, such as the Wall of Death. Demo rides for motorcyclists with proper riding endorsements and safety gear are always a popular weekend feature. Harley-Davidson, Royal Enfield, Suzuki and Yamaha will be onsite offering rides on some of their hottest new motorcycle models.
Ticket prices for the event are $90 for the weekend, $70 for admission on Friday or Saturday and $55 for Sunday ($5 additional at the gate). Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a ticketed adult at all events at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Garage paddock access is open to the public for free during Permco AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Turn 14 Distribution. Motorhome and tent spaces are available for purchase.
