INDYCAR Statement on Simon Pagenaud
Lexington, Ohio (Saturday, July 1, 2023) - Following this morning’s incident at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the driver of the No. 60, Simon Pagenaud, was evaluated and released by the INDYCAR medical team. As per INDYCAR protocol, Pagenaud has not been cleared to return to racing today. He will be re-evaluated tomorrow morning.
In 2022, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver with four career wins captured the pole and led 28 early laps before helplessly retiring from the race when his No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet failed him. O’Ward was reduced to finishing 24th among 27 drivers, a disappointment that was one of his biggest of the year.

LEXINGTON, Ohio (June 23, 2023) - The 62nd season of racing at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course begins today with the start of the 41st annual Permco Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio (June 23-25), formerly named the Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio. The event features a mix of vintage and contemporary racing from six dynamic series together known as SpeedTour, and it kicks off three consecutive weekends of racing at the Lexington, Ohio racing facility.Â
